<p>Under the supervision of the CPO, the Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the community investment process for affiliate agencies, residential mailings, resource development process and community program services.    The incumbent in this role will assist in all aspects of coordination between the office and the Board of Directors such as meetings, community events or special projects.  This position requires flexibility to work some non-traditional hours and some travel throughout the Northwest suburban area.</p>
<p><strong>Requirements:</strong>  Associate&#8217;s degree from a four-year college or university preferred or equivalent of education and experience.  One to three years administrative work experience.   S/He must posses a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with strong organizational and analytical skills.  S/He must have a proven ability to respond to and complete strict deadlines.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have the ability to  interact, professionally, with constituents from diverse professions and communities.  The candidate must also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, fully proficient and experienced in the latest version of Microsoft Office Environment (Word, Excel &amp; PowerPoint).  Prior experience with Microsoft Access or ANDAR preferred, but not required (will train).</p>

<p>Reporting to the Manager, Donor Services, the Campaign Audit Specialist is directly responsible for maintaining control of the critical day-to-day campaign audit functions related to the analysis, coding and <a id="_GPLITA_1" title="Powered by Text-Enhance" href="http://jobs.uw-mc.org/archives/2011/campaign-audit-specialist-2/#">application</a> of lockbox, credit card and other incoming pledges and payments.</p>
<p> <strong>Requirements:</strong></p>
<p>An Associates degree or equivalent course work and three to five years in accounting and/or in a high-volume transaction processing environment; or equivalent combination of college education and experience.  The ideal candidate must have the ability to work in a multi-platform computer environment (micro-computer and LAN) using both custom and off-the shelf software.  Proven ability to use a 10 key adding machine/calculator is a must.  Effective communication skills both verbal and written are key in this role.  Must be fully proficient and experienced in latest version of Microsoft Office Environment (Word, Excel &amp; PowerPoint, Access a plus).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For close to 80 years, United Way of Metropolitan Chicago (“UWMC”) has led<br />
communities in creating lasting change. UWMC has initiated LIVE UNITED 2020, a<br />
ten-year commitment to transform communities of greatest need — those areas that<br />
are home to almost 2 million Chicago area residents, more than half of whom live in<br />
poverty.</p>
<p>The role of Senior Vice President of Resource Development is a newly created<br />
position that was designed to ensure that there is a stronger, more integrated<br />
strategy to philanthropy. The expectation is that the fundraising program will be<br />
more diversified in that the workplace giving campaign will be stronger as will overall<br />
support from corporate funders while the base of individual donors and private<br />
foundations continues to grow and flourish.</p>
<p>Reporting to the President &amp; CEO, the Senior Vice President of Resource<br />
Development will be responsible for developing and implementing a fundraising<br />
strategy that will result in the realization of the LU2020 goal of $100Ml. He/she will<br />
oversee engagement initiatives, which strengthen constituent relationships, create<br />
awareness and build constituent support for UWMC. The Senior Vice President<br />
manages about 31 staff. Direct reports include the Vice President of Corporate<br />
Development and Vice President of Major &amp; Planned Gifts, Individual and Leadership<br />
Giving.</p>
<p>UWMC is seeking a transformational leader and skilled manager with a track record<br />
of over 10 years of experience in fundraising or sales with demonstrated success in<br />
growing revenue. Prior experience successfully engaging key stakeholders will define<br />
his or her accomplishments. Entrepreneurial experience that proves the candidate’s<br />
ability to recognize and act on revenue generating opportunities that may be<br />
innovative or non-traditional would be highly valued. A broad understanding of all<br />
institutional fundraising strategies, tactics and programs, as well as the proven<br />
ability to overcome the barriers to implementing such, is expected. A spirit of<br />
inquisitiveness, an ability to think strategically and a strong work ethic are essential.<br />
Bachelor&#8217;s degree (B. A.) or equivalent; Master’s Degree preferred.</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Principle Responsibilities: </span></strong> Daily responsibilities may include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Work with community nonprofit partners to identify available projects to be used for future volunteer events.</li>
<li>Coordinate agency representatives to speak at United Way of Metro Chicago engagements.</li>
<li>Assist with tracking the agencies that have posted their “Readers, Mentors and Tutors” needs on United Way website.</li>
<li>Research volunteer opportunities based on requests for volunteer events.</li>
<li>Maintain strong follow-through with event requestor, United Way account manager and Volunteer Center manager.</li>
<li>Send out volunteer event proposals within 3 weeks of receiving request.</li>
<li>Communicate confirmation via email/phone to agency representative, lead volunteer, Volunteer Center manager and United Way account manager.</li>
<li>Send out Letter of Confirmation and follow-up on event at least 72 hours prior to start date/time.</li>
<li>Provide volunteer kits (order t-shirts, prepare camera and waiver forms) to United Way account manager.</li>
<li>Gather and record volunteer information and send Thank You email to all volunteers.</li>
<li>Compile and track agencies that have/have not responded about “Readers, Mentors and Tutors”.  Request necessary information from the agency so we know who to reach out to about ensuring their “Readers, Mentors and Tutors” needs are posted to Volunteer Solutions.</li>
<li>Gather and record feedback from speaking engagements.</li>
<li>Ensure agency speaker information is updated and maintained in United Way of Metro Chicago databases.</li>
</ul>
<p> <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Minimum Qualifications:  </span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>College student or recent graduate preferred.</li>
<li>Effective verbal and written communication skills.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Student Intern-Training and Development</strong></p>
<p><strong>Position Purpose:  </strong>Assist United Way&#8217;s Talent Management department with assessing staff learning needs, organizing United Way learning opportunities for on boarding leadership, supervisory, technical, administrative staff, member offices and other key organizational staff models and present a proposed development in the above categories<strong>.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Principle Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Asses training needs through prior surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors, or customer representatives.</li>
<li>Categorize existing training.</li>
<li>Benchmark organization staff development models. Prepares and distributes training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; Schedules the appropriate classroom and prepares the physical set up, including logistical set up.</li>
<li>Identify gaps in program and propose training needs.</li>
<li>Prepare cycle of training.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Pursuing a B.S. or graduate degree focused on behavioral psychology, training and development, organizational development, or Human Resources.</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication.</li>
<li>ability to communicate with all employees, including external vendors, professional training group members, and consultants by phone and in person.</li>
<li>Ability to analyze and synthesize data.</li>
<li>Independent and self starter.</li>
<li>Discretion in working with highly confidential information.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Represent United Way positively, professionally, courteously and effectively.</li>
<li>Assists or takes on new tasks to help United Way achieve its mission.</li>
<li>Integrates United Way’s business strategies by building positive internal and external relationships.</li>

<li>Adheres to the Values and the United Way Code of Ethics at all times.</li>
</ul>
<p>Schedule to be agreed upon by supervisor and intern.</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Position Purpose:</span></strong>  United Way coordinates the non-profit relationships for an innovative City of Chicago job training initiative called ‘Chicago Career Tech’ (CCT). UW staff work closely with CCT staff to provide technology job shadowing experiences at local non-profit organizations for all CCT Participants. Under the direction of the Director of the Skill-Based Volunteer Program, the Student Intern works with the 2-3 United Way/Chicago Career Tech staff to coordinate the non-profit aspects of the CCT program, including recruitment of non-profits to serve as host sites, management of application materials, and matching of CCT Participants with their host sites.  For more details about CCT, please see <a href="http://www.chicagocareertech.com/">www.chicagocareertech.com</a>. In addition, the Student Intern may work with the United Way Volunteer Center as needed/desired.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Principle Responsibilities:</span></strong></p>

<li>Work directly with the Volunteer Coordinator to manage application materials from non-profit host sites, which may include phone or e-mail correspondence with non-profits, as well as filing.</li>
<li>Accompany the Director of the Skill-Based Volunteer Program at recruiting meetings with local non-profits and site visits with CCT Participants.</li>
<li>Assist with database management to track all placements, resumes, and applications.</li>
<li>Assist with updating of all marketing materials.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Minimum Qualifications:</span></strong></p>
<ul>

Knowledge of ANDAR is preferred, but not required (will train); Minimum 3 years of fundraising  or sales experience.
