United Way of Metropolitan Chicago (UWMC) seeks an experienced and dynamic individual to serve as the VP of Marketing and Engagement.  The incumbent in this role will be responsible for providing thought leadership about how United Way engages individuals throughout our region in making lasting improvement through the mobilization of UWMC’s LIVE UNITED 2020 Vision. He/She will also be responsible for developing and implementing marketing and engagement strategies to increase the number of individuals and organizations that give to, advocate for and volunteer with United Way to improve lives in the metropolitan Chicago community.

Requirements:  

 Bachelors Degree and/or combination of equivalent employment and education experience in Marketing; Master’s degree preferred. Ten years’ progressive experience in a variety of marketing roles with proven results.

The ideal candidate must also possess:                           

  • Ability to develop an integrated strategic engagement and marketing plan to mobilize UWMC’s LIVE UNITED 2020 vision to drive results and social impact.  Expand awareness and visibility of United Way’s LIVE United 2020 vision and work through external partnerships that reach new audiences and provide opportunities for donor cultivation
  • Acute business acumen and customer service orientation; experience in delivering results  with desired ROI’s
  • Provide annual strategic department plan for marketing & engagement activities with Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Tactics and Measurements and/or Outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities of cross-functional teams and work closely  in partnership with Resource Development and Community Building to provide marketing strategies for fundraising initiatives including the development of products for use in diversified revenue generation
  • Proven track record of developing standards for UWMC’s brand usage internally and externally as well as brand management for corporate sponsors
  • Experienced as organizational leader who has teamed with senior team to drive desired outcomes of organizational goals, objectives, mission and vision in accordance with UWCM’s values
  • Implement an integrated mobilization strategy across departments ensuring effective management and stewardship of resources
  • Strategize  and guide appropriate advocacy approach to support LIVE UNITED 2020 vision.
  • A participatory management and leadership style that encourages collaboration, cooperation and personal growth
  • Willingness to participate in task forces and performs other duties as assigned by the management team
