United Way of Metropolitan Chicago seeks an experienced technology savvy professional who has a demonstrated ability to work in a very fast paced environment. This position is a critical role for the support of the full development cycle for projects undertaken by the Campaign Operations Department. This is a customer facing role allowing the tech to come from behind the desk and work directly in support of internal and external customers.  This individual will be a hands on technical support person and will coordinate the cross functional efforts of those internal and external customers.

The projects include the successful implementation of electronic campaign pledging as well as the support of the organizational database.  This role is responsible for creating customized web-based pledging sites for 25-40 company fundraising campaigns, loading the appropriate data and custom variables, managing the site, electronic communications and customer support. This role is also responsible for creating and managing database objects, reports, customer database training and general support for campaign management.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or AAS in Computer Science/Technical field and 2-3 years equivalent work experience required.  Direct Account/Customer contact experience preferred. Ability to coordinate and direct resources from all departments within the company.

The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to work in an environment with a high degree of customer interaction while executing diverse daily tasks. Extreme attention to detail with a high level of accuracy is a must. Expert knowledge in the Microsoft Office Environment (Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.  Fully proficient and experienced in a job environment with HTML or similar programming tools are key.
